Cadillac Overview:
Not to be forgotten is the gasoline only, stylish and spacious Escalade that seats up to eight people and hosts many luxurious appointments. Cadillac also offers the long wheelbase Escalade ESV which adds nearly 10 inches of legroom and increases cargo room from 16.9 cubic feet to 45.8 cubic feet. The Escalade EXT, which is Cadillac’s version of GM’s truck/SUV crossover gains E85 capability and an optional blind-zone alert system. Those looking for the cargo capacity of an SUV but more of a carlike ride should consider the SRX mid-size crossover vehicle. For 2009, Cadillac boosts the power of the CTS-V sport sedan. The supercharged 556-horsepower V-8, Magnetic Ride Control shock absorbers and micro-fiber interior trim are delicious additions for 2009. Meanwhile, the CTS remains unchanged. The STS midsize sedan features a 3.6-liter, 302-horsepower direct-injection V-6, while the much more powerful STS-V boasts a supercharged 4.4-liter, 469-horsepower V-8. Sun lovers will enjoy the power and luxury found in the XLR convertible with its retractable hardtop. Only the Platinum and XLR-V models are offered this year with new front and rear ends with specific grilles for each model. This luxury boulevard cruiser competes with the Lexus SC 430 and the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. Cadillac’s flagship is its full-size DTS sedan offered with a choice of two Northstar V-8 engines. The DTS can hold five or six passengers and competes with the Lincoln MKS, Volvo S80 and Chrysler 300C. |
