GMC Overview:
For 2009, GMC offers another hybrid and expanded trim levels to several vehicles in its fleet. The all-new full-size Sierra 1500 Hybrid pickup truck increases its fuel economy 25 percent compared to gas-only Sierra’s and gets 20-21 MPG in the city and 20-22 MPG on the highway. Pretty impressive considering that the Sierra 1500 Hybrid retains its power with a 6.0-liter, 332-horsepower V-8. The full-size Sierra pickup truck adds improved interior space and amenities with increased maximum towing capacity and gas mileage. The Sierra 1500 improves fuel economy with the XFE trim, while the Sierra 2500HD or Sierra 3500HD are better choices for more heavy-duty hauling and towing. The combination of a Duramax diesel and Allison six-speed automatic transmission yields 365-horsepower and 13,000 pounds of towing capacity. The compact Canyon pickup is a twin to the Chevy Colorado and features an available 300-horsepower V-8. The Colorado can be enhanced with a sport-tuned suspension and offers a capable off-road model for more rugged duties. One of GM’s most popular vehicles, the Yukon and extended-length Yukon XL SUV, receive increased power and fuel efficiency with a new 6.2-liter, 403-horsepower V-8 that can run on E85. The Yukon seats up to nine people or accommodate 108.9 cubic feet of cargo space when all rows are stowed. Joining the luxury all-wheel drive Denali trim level is a new rear-wheel drive version that offers better handling and stability. Those looking for a spacious and flexible vehicle, the Acadia crossover SUV offers sharp styling and a wealth of amenities. Wide rear doors make for an easy step-in and a tapered roof line and rear spoiler display a very elegant design. The Acadia receives an updated 3.6-liter, 288-horsepower V-6 engine with direct-injection technology. The midsize Envoy SUV offers excellent ride comfort and engine performance, seats up to five passengers, and includes standard side curtain airbags and XM Satellite Radio. The Savana 1500, 2500 and 3500 full-size van features a tire pressure monitoring system that comes standard alongside redesigned driver controls. With three distinct |
