For 2009, Kia unveils the brand-new seven-passenger crossover Borrego SUV. The Borrego features both, V-6 (276-horsepower) or V-8 (337-horsepower) engines, interior quality, tons of room and a 10-year/100,000 mile warranty.  In an attempt to liven up the brand for 2009, more Kia’s are equipped with iPod connections, Sirius Satellite Radio and revised audio systems.

 

The Sedona minivan is available in both short- and long-wheelbase versions. A standard 250-horsepower V-6 engine complements the ample interior comfort and safety features. Satellite radio and a navigation system are optional, while all trims receive new carpet. The stylish Rondo is a roomy compact crossover vehicle that now includes a standard auxiliary input jack for MP3 players and other audio devices, and an optional 175-horsepower engine.

 
The Sorento is classified as a compact SUV, yet it features the interior dimensions of a midsize SUV and a lively V-6 engine that now comes standard on the LX trim level.   A revised front grille and monotone paint revive the exterior, while a keyless entry and front active headrests are now standard.  The Sportage continues to compete in the compact SUV class. A redesigned front grille and head- and taillamp design freshen up the Sportage’s look.  

Those seeking a sophisticated sedan will love the full-size Amanti. The Amanti gets a new audio system with Sirius Satellite Radio, MP3 capabilities, 5.5-inch display monitor and USB jacks prove that Kia is looking to the future. The midsize Optima receives an interior and exterior redesign for 2009. The entire front fascia is redesigned, while the gauge cluster has been revised to include satellite radio and MP3 capabilities. The engine also becomes more powerful (162- and 194-horsepower) and efficient.

The compact Spectra sedan received mild accents with active front headrests, cruise control as standard equipment, while a sunroof and antilock brake system are optional. Meanwhile, the affordable subcompact Rio sedan and flexible Rio5 hatchback include a revised audio system with auxiliary and USB jacks.
