The Corolla is also one of the most fuel-efficient cars on the road with 22-27 MPG in the city and 30-35 on the highway. Speaking of hybrids, the Camry Hybrid sedan and Highlander Hybrid SUV get amazing fuel economy and remain favorites in their respective class. The non-hybrid versions, the fan-favorite Camry midsize sedan and Highlander midsize SUV have a few new features themselves. The base Camry is now just called Camry instead of CE. The Highlander features a new four-cylinder base model making it one of the few midsize crossovers to offer that kind of power. The Camry Solara has been discontinued. If you like bigger vehicles or have a family and need the space to haul around the soccer team, the compact RAV4 crossover, retro-inspired FJ Cruiser, midsize sporty 4Runner and full-size Land Cruiser can get the job done. If those aren’t big enough for you, then the full-size Sequoia SUV, which seats up to eight and has a 381-horsepower V-8 beast should be all the SUV you need. Larger families will enjoy Toyota’s only minivan – the Sienna – which seats seven or eight passengers and boasts a variety of innovative interior options.
Toyota continues into 2009 with several versions of its recently redesigned, rugged full-size Tundra pickup, as well as multiple varieties of the capable midsize Tacoma pickup. All of the Tacoma’s advanced safety features come standard in 2009. |
